The Peace Memorial Park ( Heiwa kinen kouen )
A national park located in Itoman, Okinawa Prefecture. It is established in a location overlooking the site of the end of the Battle of Okinawa. Okinawa Battle Site Government Park.
The park has a spacious lawn and playground equipment, and is crowded on weekends with local families and others.
The park has a Peace Memorial Museum, Okinawa Peace Memorial Hall, and other facilities exhibiting materials related to the Battle of Okinawa.
The Peace Memorial Museum is a permanent exhibit that mainly displays materials related to the Battle of Okinawa.
The Okinawa Peace Memorial Hall is a symbol of peace and has a statue of a prayer. There is also an art museum where many works of art can be viewed.
