Landscape of Okinawa

The suburban area of Naha City is an urban area, with many retail stores and restaurants.

In recent years, the Omoromachi Station area, known as the "new city center," has been developing, with large supermarkets, movie theaters, bookstores, electronics retailers, museums, and many other facilities.

The Chubu area is strongly influenced by the U.S. military bases, and many of the cityscapes are American in style.

Futenma in Ginowan City, Mihama in Chatan Town, and Koza in Okinawa City are characteristic of this area.

There are also several small islands that can be crossed by car via bridges connected to the main island, and are often visited as a driving course because of their scenic views.

These include Okutake Island, Kouri Island, and the Underwater Road.
